James Edward (Eddie) Burch (11-22-1873 to 04-17-1963)was by trade a traveling carpenter earlier in his life and followed commercial work thus lived in many places. He first married Carrie Elizabeth Davis (ll-08-1879 to 07-27-1957) on August 29, 1908 in Bibb County Ga. The ceremony was performed by A. N. Stoke, Justice of the Peace. They had three children, Helen Ruth, William Franklin, and Joseph Everett. I have a postcard dated August 20, 1909 (100 years old this year) addressed to Ida P. Davis, R.R. No 2 Box 59, Pavo Ga (Carrie could not read or write which may explain why the letter was addressed to her sister Ida) The letter says roughly: Still on the road. Wrote you from Atlanta last....I told you to write me then. Guess you have decided not to write anymore! Hope you are all getting along alright and keeping well. I have been sick for the last few days but I keep on the go. I will be back in Cordele in a week or so. I may stay....I can't be sure yet; if I don't I will go to Savannah. Nothing more to write you. (Can't read last sentence) (Signed E.) See attached docs. At some time around 1913 he deserted this family and then married Ada Johns and had Lorena, Janice M, Josie, & Grady Christopher (b. 03/11/1928, d. 05/23/1991, buried 5/24/1991, US Navy, YN3, Buried in the Barrancas National Cementary in Pensacola, FL, Plot: 38 0 885.
